Celebrate Earth Day By Test Driving Electric Cars
MIAMISBURG — People interested in seeing and test-driving electric cars are invited to the EV Auto Show from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 16 at Austin Landing.
The event is free and open to the public as part of Earth Day activities sponsored by Drive Electric Dayton and Plug-In America.
The EV Auto Show will be held outdoors in the West Parking Garage next to the movie theater entrance off Innovation Drive next to I-75.
Free EV Rides and Test Drives
\You’re encouraged to meet and talk with electric car owners who live in the Dayton region about their experiences with battery-electric vehicles. They will be displaying their cars; some electric cars will be available for free test drives or demonstrations guided by the owners.
We anticipate a variety of privately owned electric cars to be displayed, including models from Audi, BMW, Chevy, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Porsche, Tesla, and Volkswagen.
Area auto dealers also are expected to participate and bring their latest electric car models for inspection and arrange for test rides.
A representative of the City of Dayton Sustainability Office will be on hand to share news about electric vehicle charging infrastructure funding available for businesses and government EV users in the community.
“Everyone who is interested in how much fun electric cars are to drive, or the amazing technology that powers EVs, or how much it really costs to own and operate an electric car should come out and see us,” said Jim Kelly, Drive Electric Dayton organizer.
Drive Electric Dayton members and volunteers provide information about electric cars through ride-and-drive events throughout the Miami Valley. The group is an affiliate of Drive Electric Ohio and the Electric Vehicle Association. More information is available at driveelectricdayton.com or at Facebook.com/DriveElectricDayton.
